"That's cool, I kinda walked here anyway," Donnie nodded at her as he followed her to her bug car. It definitely fitted her personality. He got inside the small car and immediately was cramped due to how tall he was. Saving a witty comment, Donnie chuckled cutely as he heard her comment about how she liked him better bad than good. Yeah right. You definitely would not want that, trust me... Donne thought that to himself as he looked over at her, "That's fine with me. It's not like I'm holding you hostage or anything." Donnie shrugged as she drove off and eventually they pulled up to her apartment. Once they got inside, he noticed that the living area was empty and the entire apartment was quiet. Too quiet like no one was actually here. Scoffing confidently in his mind, Donnie thought to himself. Ugh, this is too easy. It was a scary thought, but Donnie had a feeling Gavynn planned this, even though she didn't.
Walking over to the couch and plopping down on it, Donnie sighed as his phone immediately started ringing once Gavynn went to the back. He cursed the phone as he saw that it was his ex calling yet again and he ignored the incoming call. "Crazy woman," Donnie uttered to himself just as Gavynn came back into he room, announcing that they were alone. A smile on his face, Donnie slid his phone into his pocket as he stood up and went to the counter as he grabbed the ice cream cone from Gavynn, actually appreciating her keeping her word of giving him ice cream. It was one of his favorite things to eat since he wasn't the biggest fan of cake. It just didn't taste right to him. Taking a few licks of the ice cream and said "Thanks, for real. I appreciate it." There was a great hint of gentleness and sincerity in his voice.
"Now that I've gotten you your ice cream, can you trust this pretty girl and smile?" Donnie raised an eyebrow at her before tilting his head and thinking about it. Was that what her goal was? To gain his trust? Why exactly would she want that in the first place? Did she realize what kind of guy Donnie was? He thought about the question for a bit longer before shrugging saying, "You know what? I'm not even gonna trip, I'll trust you for now." He took a few more licks of his cone as he watched her closely. Anticipating that Gavynn would try to dwell deeper in his mind. He knew she wanted to know what made Donnie tick. If only she knew... no father, drug addicted mother, several run-ins with the law, the list went on and on. Yet somehow Donnie managed to keep his cool... at least on the surface. Was it all a front? Probably not.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] a line of lyrics goes here Gavynn made sure not to show any visible signs of herself being riled but she was. Where the hell was Asia and why was she running out this late? She made a mental note to text her sister later before shaking her head and busying her self with the ice cream. She called out to him. "The remote's on the table. We have satellite and Netflix comes in through the PS3." Gavynn was the only reason for the machine being there. As much as Asia couldn't understand it, she loved everything about being able to play Mortal Kombat, COD, Halo, and her favorites of all time: GTA.
She plopped down on the couch beside him...but not too close. "You're a popular man, Mr. West." Gesturing to the phone she heard ringing earlier and all the alerts she saw at the beach. "There aren't gonna be any girls trying to jump me because I'm taking up their time, are they?" She asked sarcastically. She could admit that part of it was in jealousy. Gavynn wished she could be as bold as some of these women to just go after him but then she realized that they were only getting pieces of him. Gavynn wanted to know him...needed to know him inside and out before giving him her body. She needed to be able to know that he wouldn't abuse her trust first. Gavynn also knew that because of the above reason she may not ever be able to disclose herself to him and she was fine with that. At least what they had now was entertaining.
She smiled at the gratefulness she could hear in his voice. "No problem. You gave me a free drink, I give you free ice cream. It's only fair." She stated. Gavynn eyed him carefully as he waited quite a bit, thinking about her question, to answer with such a simple answer. "Just for now? I guess I can accept that." She smiled. "I promise not to interrogate you either. In fact, I'll let you interrogate me this time. Anything you wanna know, I'll answer it honestly." She said thinking it was only far for all the time he had let her pry so she could get a glimpse of who he really was.

Donnie was actually surprised that Gavynn had a PS3. Most women, especially college, felt that video games were juvenile, but here she was with a big collection of games stacked up near the remote on the table. Donnie took the liberty of scanning through them all as he grabbed the remote. "Mortal Kombat, Modern Warfare 3, Halo, Grand Theft Auto 4? Okay, how soon are you ready to get married? So serious, girl." Donnie looked at her as she came into the living room and plopped down on the couch beside him. He was halfway serious because this was definitely a turn on for him. One thing about Donnie, he loved to play games, especially GTA. The random reckless adventures he would play, running over people, shooting up hospitals, taking down helicopters from the sky. Of course he wasn't that crazy to do that stuff in actuality, but a night psycho amusement definitely provided him with laughs every now and then.
She noticed another call in his phone log and he sighed. Donnie really needed to change his number to prevent the women that he actually minded calling from calling him. His ex seemed to be picking up in steam with her craziness and Donnie only slept with her once. She didn't understand that she wasn't what he wanted in the first place. Hell, he was halfway drunk when they hooked up. Donnie seriously thought for a moment before giving her an innocent 32 white smile, "I can't say that I'll make any promises about that, but you don't have anything to worry about." Donnie gave her a light playful jab, before giving her another one with his other fist. "Aw yeah, you were all talk earlier on IM today. You gonna shoot the hands or what, princess?" He was only fooling, as he put his hands down. He didn't want to scare her too bad.
"Anything I wanna know huh?" This was a rare moment, surely. Now that he thought about it, Donnie never really interrogated Gavynn back. He felt stupid by not answering her questions with questions of her own. He thought for a moment as he looked to the ceiling and then turned his body to face her as he sat up on the couch. He shifted his mouth, still in thought as he flipped his hat backwards so that it could help him think better, however that was supposed to work. Finally, he snapped his fingers and then said to her, "A'ight... why are you always trying to get in my head? Like, for real. You're the only chick that does that... always questioning stuff. Are you that intrigued by the human species or is this just for some class or something?" Donnie had to know, because last time he checked, Gavynn wasn't a Psychology major.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] a line of lyrics goes here Gavynn went about flipping on lights when she noticed her roommate was no where to be found. A slight frown graced her face as she wondered where she had ran off to and why this late. She made a mental note to cuss her out when she returned. She was coming back into the living room when she heard his phone ring and his muttering.
Gavynn smiled at the gratitude she could hear in his voice. She would have kept her promise eventually. Somewhere down the line she would have given him some ice cream. If Gavynn told you she would give you something, she did. That was how her dad raised her to be. "No problem." She smiled at him before taking a few licks of it. She gestured to the table in front of them. "Remote's right there if there's anything you want to watch. I have netflix coming through the PS3," She pointed to her game system. She only had a few games, Mortal Kombat, 2k12, COD, and Grand Theft Auto ( her all time favorite ).
She watched him as he took time to think about her question and then gave her a simple answer. She nodded because she could see the questions written on her face. "I'm not like these other girls, I want to know you. The reason we go back and forth so much is because you act like you want to keep me at arms length." Gavynn had heard rumors about the kind of guy he was and how he was a bit of a lady killer. But she didn't want that for herself. She didn't want to be another notch on his bedpost. If they couldn't ever be serious then she at least wanted a friendship, no matter how awkward.

Indeed, Gavynn wasn't like the other girls Although Donnie admitted that he, more times than not, only wanted one thing from women, most of the women he dealt felt the exact same way, albeit Donnie's crazy ex-girlfriend. Gavynn mentioned that she wanted to know him, but he kept her away, at least arm's length. There was a reason for Donnie doing that, mainly because, well, he actually like Gavynn. Part of him wanted to keep her away because he didn't want to give up the lifestyle of sleeping around with who ever, whenever, but another part of him wanted to keep her away because he didn't want to hurt her feelings. She obviously foud him entertaining enough to be on the talking level because, well, here he was in her living room. He exhaled through his nose as he listened to her answer.
"I can tell that you're not like the other girls," Donnie nodded in agreement. The one thing he couldn't understand was Gavynn's curiosity. She always wanted to know why, who, what, when, where, and how. It kind of drove Donnie crazy, but not in a bad way. He always brushed her off when she asked him random questions, but now she was allowing him to ask her questions, he guessed to level the playing field. "So let me ask you this then," Donnie started again. "You know what kind of guy I am. Why are you so... pokey with me. Always tryna push my buttons." A small grin appeared on his face. He tried to fight it, but it emerged.
While they conversed, Donnie fiddled through movies on Netlflix. For a companyt hat charged eight bucks a month, they sure had some horrible selection of movies. The movies that were on display had little to no interest in Donnie and he ended up turning the came off complete to finish off his ice cream cone, biting the last bit of the waffle cone before getting up to wipe his mouth and hands with a paper towel from the kitchen. "A'ight... I guess I'll tell you a little something," Donnie shrugged. It was the least he could do and she was being nice for a change. They both were being nice to each other so why not. Gavynn was a cool girl and even if they never hooked up, Donnie liked talking to her.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] a line of lyrics goes here Gavynn laughed at him as he asked her how soon she was ready to get married. "We'll never get married if you suck at playing them." She stuck her tongue out. She laughed extremely hard at his playful jabs before responding with one of her own when he said she was all talk. "I'm gonna take it easy on you cause they call me Gavynn Ali back in Brooklyn." She laughed.
Gavynn felt a smidgen of triumph at him stating he could tell she wasn't like the others. That was why Gavynn pushed him so far away because she didn't want to fall into his groupie's madness. She bit her lip at the question he had asked her. She had an answer readily avalible but she didn't know if she was ready to tell him that. She shifted on her couch and finished her ice cream before deciding to go ahead and answer. "I know what kind of guy say you are. I don't know who you really are. And honestly, I know there's more to you than what other people say. I want to know all of you. And I poke you so much," She grinned and poked his side. "Because I know you can be so much more than you are right now. And that you need someone to poke you in the right direction." She finished. She pushed her curls back and blinked before hurriedly going to the kitchen and messing around in there.
She had stalled for time to face him until he said she'd tell him something. She couldn't ignore her piqued interest and it would be stupid to hide from a guest at her house. She came back to the couch and sat beside him a little further away this time. "What is it?" She asked quietly, ready to receive whatever glimpse of his world he was willing to show her.

Donnie smiled at her comment. He was a pretty avid gamer, playing most of the times with his guys back at home, away from the university. Many people were interested in these games, but not too many women were, so Donnie commended her for that. He chuckled as he allowed her to jab him, "Gavynn Ali huh? We'll have to get in the ring one day since you talk a good talk." Of course, he was teasing, but Donnie wouldn't mind play fighting with Gavynn. Knowing her, she would probably give him a run for his money.
Most of what Gavynn said about him was true. She didn't know who he really was and there was definitely more to him than people realized. He admitted, he liked being poked in the direction Gavynn wanted him to go in and often times he obliged. But there was a desire to stay on the path he was currently on, so it was a constant tug of war of where he wanted to be. "I get ya. You see potential in me, huh? Donnie nodded before saying to her, "Good luck with trying to accomplish that. It's going to take a lot more than poking me in the right direction to get me where you want me to be." A stubborn tone, but nonetheless, Donnie was partially serious and playful with her. It wasn't going to be easy for either one of them, but it felt like Donnie had a great desire to help him. Maybe he would let her in.
"Well," Donnie sighed, starting off with his mini-story. "A'ight... I didn't have a father growing up, so it was pretty difficult trying to figure out how to be a man, especially in the neighborhood I grew up. I tried reaching out to 'em, but not everything goes as planned. He wanted nothing to do with me. So... obviously I got a little angry and started doing things that probably aren't necessarily good, but... the guys I hang out with, they understand me. We're similar so I was comfortable around them." He paused for a moment as he gathered his thoughts, "I won't lie, some of the shit that I do is crazy, but it... eases the pain, I guess." He paused again as he realized he was staring at the floor, fingers cupped together and then he looked at her, "Yeah..."
Notes: It's fine! Lol. I was wondering if you saw it or not! (:
